On April 19, Florida authorities arrested three men during a drug bust in Titusville. The operation also led to the seizure of a significant amount of cocaine and other drugs.
According to local media reports, members of the Titusville SWAT team and the Palm Bay Police Department executed a search warrant at a home on Pine Valley Lane. During the ensuing search, the officers allegedly located and seized 67.8 grams of cocaine, 9.6 grams of Xanax pills, an unspecified amount of other prescription pills and thousands of dollars in cash. Three men living at the residence, ages 32, 38 and 47, were taken into custody.
The 32-year-old defendant has been charged with possession of cocaine, intent to sell cocaine and possession of drug manufacturing equipment, and the 38-year-old defendant has been charged with resisting arrest without violence. Meanwhile, the 47-year-old defendant has been charged with possession of cocaine, intent to sell cocaine, trafficking cocaine and possession of a controlled substance. In addition, the defendants have been issued multiple citations for residential code violations. Officers from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control department also took several pets from the home.
Florida residents facing drug charges might benefit from contacting a criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. Depending on the details of the case, an attorney might be able to cast doubt on the prosecution’s evidence and develop a strong defense to the allegations, which could cause the charges to be dismissed. Alternatively, legal counsel may recommend negotiating a plea deal that reduces the charges in exchange for the defendant’s guilty plea. This strategy could spare the defendant the stress of a trial and may lead to a lighter sentence.
